Hormonal problems of any significance often cause symptoms that bring women to their physician. One common cause of hormonal problems is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  Click here for more information. Some symptoms of reproductive hormonal problems include:

  • Irregular menses
  • Unwanted hair growth or loss
  • Acne
  • Rough skin on the back of the neck or in skin folds
  • Infertility
  • Loss of libido (sex drive)
  • Weight loss or gain
  • Fatigue
  • Change in body appearance

Although all of these things MAY signify hormonal disorders, it is important to note that conditions such as weight gain, fatigue, and loss of libido are usually NOT caused by changes in the hormones. On the other hand, weight gain itself causes changes in the hormones that is reversed by a loss of weight. Thyroid disorders are rarely to blame for weight gain.

We specialize in comprehensive hormonal evaluation for women experiencing symptoms that may be caused by hormonal abnormalities. Please call for an appointment if we can assist you in any way!
